What is FBLA? <ul><li>Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a </li></ul><ul><li>nonprofit 501(c)(3) education association with a quarter </li></ul><ul><li>million students preparing for careers in business and </li></ul><ul><li>business-related fields. The association has four divisions:  </li></ul><ul><li>Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for high school students; </li></ul><ul><li>FBLA-Middle Level for junior high, middle, and intermediate school students; </li></ul><ul><li>Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) for postsecondary students; and </li></ul><ul><li>Professional Division for business people, FBLA-PBL alumni, educators, and parents who support    the goals of the association.    </li></ul>

Facts About Georgia FBLA <ul><li>Georgia FBLA is a nonprofit student organization committed to preparing today's students for success in business leadership. </li></ul><ul><li>Georgia FBLA, the premiere organization for student leaders, is an affiliate of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. Georgia is also the largest FBLA chapter in the nation with over 20,000 members. </li></ul><ul><li>FBLA is an important partner in the success of school-to-work programs, business education curriculums, and student leadership development. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Georgia FBLA Mission <ul><li>The FBLA mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. We bring our mission to life through the application of our motto: Service, Education, and Progress. </li></ul>

  11. 11. Duties & Responsibilities of FBLA Officers <ul><li>The Secretary </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Keeps an accurate record of the meetings (minutes). </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Prepares minutes of previous meeting. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Calls the roll at the meeting. </li></ul></ul>

Duties & Responsibilities of FBLA Officers <ul><li>The Treasurer </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Keeps accurate financial records. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Reports the financial proceedings to the membership. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>The Parliamentarian </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Ensures that meetings are conducted in an orderly fashion, according to Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised. </li></ul></ul>

Duties & Responsibilities of FBLA Officers <ul><li>The Reporter </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Keeps the membership informed of chapter activities (newsletter). </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Informs the public of activities. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>The Historian </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Keeps an up-to-date account of the chapter, including the annual report of chapter activities, awards and publicity (scrapbook). </li></ul></ul>
