  4. 4. Why Games?  There are 100+ million U.S. mobile gamers (almost 1/3 of the nation’s population).  The mobile gaming industry is predicted to reach $54 billion by 2015.  Over 80% of all revenue generated by mobile in 2012 was from games.  $12 billion dollars were generated in 2011 alone.

(Part 2)  93% of app downloaders who pay for an app, pay for a mobile game.  76 of the top 100 grossing iOS apps are games.  Cross-platform game players monetize 25% higher than single-platform players.  Time spent on tablets playing games has overtaken time spent watching videos, listening to music, and reading magazines

  8. 8. But now…  (Almost) any Joe who can write code can write games. (Those who can’t, can learn)  Some of the best selling mobile games were written by indies & 1 man teams.  Anyone can self-publish and market on social networks at no cost.  Reaching multiple platforms takes a single click.
