  2. Millions of children around the world live in devastating conditions. As a company we at P&G like to focus our expertise, technologies and resources to address these issues. We aspire to help children get off to a healthy start, go to school and build life skills.  
  3. Live, Learn and Thrive has over 100 programs taking place in over 120 countries everyday. We provide services from life-saving vaccinations to safe drinking water in Africa. Safe homes in Europe, and educational opportunities, fundamental nutrition in North America, and early childhood development in Latin America are some of the programs weoffer. Ourobjective is enhancing life for children and youth around the globe. Continue listening to learn more about these services.
  4. An upwards of almost 1 billion people in third world countries do not have an outlet to clean drinking water. Without clean water thousands of children die every day. OurChildren’s Safe Drinking Water Program provides a packet to these individuals that purifies water. Ten liters of unsanitary water can be purified by one small packet and they can be used all over the world. This program has purified over 5 billion liters of purified drinking water in more than 65 countries and has averted approximately 200 million days of diarrheal illness and helped save over 26, 000 lives.
  5. Procter and Gamble along with UNICEF have teamed together to provide vaccines to women and children in need. When a customer purchases one pack of Pampers, one dose of the vaccine is given
  6. This campaign has created a large awareness for maternal and neonatal tetanus and helping to put the disease back on the list of health authorities.  This funding has helped protect women and their babies against maternal and neonatal tetanus since 2006. Pampers is committed to support UNICEF in their battle to eradicate MNT.
  7. More than 600 million girls live in the developing world. A large amount of these girls have missed numerous days of school because of the shortfall of necessary sanitary protection to manage their periods. 
  8. Protecting Futures provides puberty education, sanitary protection, and sanitary facilities to help girls continue their schooling.  In the past 7 years, Protecting Futures has partnered with 9 others organizations in 20 countries, reaching more than 720,000 girls in the developing world.
  9. In partnership with China Youth Development Foundation, children now have more access to schooling in rural areas that have been hit by poverty. P&G China is dedicated to this program and is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
  10. P&G Hope Schools Program has helped over 150,00 children in China in the last 15 years, and thousands of P&G China employees have passionately supported the program and our activities.
  11. Nearly 50% percent of children in India are not attending school. This is the biggest population of uneducated children. The Shiksha Program is devoted to ending that statistic by providing education for more children.  Shiksha is now in it’s 8th year and has allowed more than 385,000 lesser-privileged children to attend school. They have help build and/or support over 200 schools.
  12. Feeding America is dedicated to help the fights against child hunger. P&G helps Feeding America in providing food and basic needs to children and their families. Feeding America has be honored to be named “Donor of the Year” two years in a row.  Same here – show me the happy kids
  13. In just the past year, they have helped disadvantaged children acquire necessary nutrition and the necessities by donating 3.2 million pounds of product, equaling almost $600,000. Along with raising awareness of the basic needs of disadvantaged families in the United States.
  14. P&G and United Way have partnered together to help spread the importance and significance of Early Childhood Development, and its impact on the long-term wellbeing of children in Latin America. Born Learning provides quality education for children under the age of 6. In the meanwhile enabling their parents to work and provide an income. 
  15. P&G employees volunteer their time in multiple ways. They contribute their skills in maintaining or improving infrastructure and spending quality time with children and sharing their skills.
  16. P&G’s Disaster Relief programs respondsquickly and effectively. Within hours, we are in contact with government agencies and humanitarian partners to understand the crisis, and the best way to respond. First concern is for the safety and welfare of P&G employees. Once it’s declared safe, we work with our partners to bring relief to the areas impacted by the disaster.
  17. In addition to cash donations, P&G provides products and in the event of large disasters, we have developed mobile relief units to provide products and services directly to those in highly impacted areas. Soap and personal hygiene products to laundry, diaper and cleaning products, can help restore a sense of regularity to the lives of everyone in the aftermath of a disaster.
