The Marine Corps is known for many things: Leadership, Teamwork, Courage, Commitment, Perseverance, Honor and more. But there also are other important, if lesser known, Marine Corps principles that help them win – and can help businesses win – on Wall Street – where Ken Marlin spent the better part of the past sixteen years – and on Main Street, where he worked and led technology businesses for ten years before that. In his book, “The Marine Corps Way to Win on Wall Street” (St. Martin Press) Ken Marlin writes about 11 key Marine Corps principles that he gathered even earlier – over the course of a decade on active duty as a US Marine. In this presentation he summarizes each of those 11 principles and gives each context. Each of these 11 principles represents a key insight and suggests where business leaders, Wall Street leaders and even politicians should focus - and perhaps change – in an effort not only to win – but also to do so the Marine Corps Way – by doing the right things, for the right reasons, every time. You won’t find these principles in any training manual. But many Marines will recognize their universal applicability. It’s about Seizing the High Ground. It’s about winning – and doing so in ways that make you proud. That’s “The Marine Corps Way.”
