HR Audit <ul><li>It is a systematic and analytical research to find out the the effectiveness of personnel management. </li></ul><ul><li>It refers to an examination and evaluation of policies, procedures and practices to determine the effectiveness of PM. </li></ul><ul><li>It also includes examination and verification of accounts and records. </li></ul>

HR Audit covers basically three things:  <ul><li>Measurement and evaluation of personnel programmes, policies and practices. </li></ul><ul><li>Identification of gap between objectives and result. </li></ul><ul><li>Determination of what should or what should not be done in future. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Objectives of HR Audit <ul><li>To know how the various units are functioning </li></ul><ul><li>how the units have been able to meet the policies and guidelines which were agreed upon. </li></ul><ul><li>To identify the gaps between objectives and result in order to assist the organization. </li></ul><ul><li>To formulate plans for corrections after evaluation. </li></ul>

Objectives Cont. <ul><li>To review the organizational system, HR subsystem in order to find out the efficiency of the org. in attracting and retaining HR. </li></ul><ul><li>To find out the effectiveness of various personnel policies and practices. </li></ul><ul><li>To review the personnel system in comparision with organizations and modify them to meet the challenges of PM. </li></ul>

Objectives Cont. <ul><li>To locate the gaps ,shortcomings in the implementation of the policies, procedures, practices of HR Dept. </li></ul><ul><li>To know the areas where non implementation or wrong implementation has hindered the planned programmes and activities. </li></ul><ul><li>To seek answers of “what happened?” “why it happened?” or “why it did not happen?” while implementing policies ,practices in managing HR. </li></ul>
