This isbecause butterflies requiresalt and minerals forreproduction.   10. 10. Certain trees have hollowstems or roots. Ant’s takeadvantage of these hollowsby taking residence in them.Trees provide antswith homes. In return,the ants patrol thearea around the tree,killing insects thatseek to eat the tree’sleaves.   11. 11. The EcosystemTrees act as barriers that protect thesoil from erosion. Trees also protectthe river bank from damage as theirroots hold the loose soil firmly inplace.   12. 12. On 15th April 2013 we setout on a journey todiscover nature. It was atRiverstone Eco Resort,that we were truly able toexperience the beauty ofnature. To us, it was anunforgettable experiencethat made us fully awareof nature’s importance tous and the importance ofprotecting and conservingnature.
  13. 13. This is our site. We chose thislocation because we were able toobserve a variety of different plantand animal species here.Furthermore, we also wanted anopportunity to investigate the riveras part of our site.
  14. 14. The interesting thing aboutour site is that it consist ofboth wet and dry land. Bychoosing this site we wereable to observe thedifferences in plant andanimal species both in theriver and on dry land.Moreover, we were also ableto investigate theinteractions between thedifferent plant and animalspecies.
