• Early years refer to children aged 3-8 years.
• There is a need to prepare students to live and work in a
digital world (Australia Government, 2008).
• It is vital that parents should support teachers to
implement strategies to include the use of
technology within the curriculum.

Did you know?
Indigenous students are less likely to have access to technology.
Technology can be used to sustain children’s diverse cultures,
languages and cultural heritage.
Economically disadvantage students have less access to computers
at home.

Technology is changing the way we interact socially and the way we
learn.
Technology as an environment to enable learning.
Technology as a source to share and communicate with others.
It encourage creativity.
It encourage a diversity of learning methods.
It is an effective way of communication generated from working
together.
7. WHY ICT CONTINUE….
It can increases children’s self concept and improve on their
attitudes about school in general and learning.
Children can share leadership roles on the computer and introduce
interactions more.
It can motivate children to contribute to social and cognitive
development.

AS ICT?
Information communication technology covers any invention that
will:

• Retrieve
• Manipulate
• Transmit
• Or receive information electronically in a digital form.
