  2. 2. Financial bloggers are literally a dime a dozen these days. But that doesn’t mean they’re not as likely to provide a good market tip or some insight into the state of the market. Any advantage can make a huge difference during these thin-as-paint volume days. Just ask our own Shawn Langlois, who scours about 50 every morning while researching our Need to Know blog. As his own blog shows, financial bloggers have a way with treasure hunts, from details you overlooked to where-on-earth-did-they-find- that charts. But don’t forget: Bad calls and lousy advice come with the territory.

Engadget currently operates a total of ten blogs—four written in English and six international versions with independent editorial staff. Engadget has in the past ranked among the top five in the "Technorati top 100“and was noted in TIME for being one of the best blogs of 2010.
  5. 5. Gizmodo is a design and technology blog. It is part of the Gawker Media network run by Nick Denton and runs on the Kinja platform. The blog, launched in 2002, was originally edited by Peter Rojas, but he was recruited by Weblogs, Inc. to launch their similar technology blog Engadget. By mid-2004, Gizmodo and Gawker together were bringing in revenue of approximately $6,500 per month, definitely a success blog.

Ryan, it is the overarching brand where Silicon Alley Insider (launched May 16, 2007) and Clusterstock (launched March 20, 2008) appear.

  12. 12. Advantages of “Recommendations” It’s an excuse to connect. While some people make unsolicited Recommendations, the majority of Recommendations are the result of the receiver requesting them. That prompts the requester to engage the recommender and remind them of why they value the requester.
  13. 13. Connects A Thriving Community People love to belong to a community, or a Tribe as Seth Godin puts it. The more you are able to connect like-minded people together, the more they will appreciate you for doing so. Create an opportunity for passionate people to come together because the leader that does this *usually* reaps the benefits.
