  2. 2. Who the heck are Hoosiers? Hoosier is the official nickname for a resident of the U . S . State of Indiana . Although residents of most U . S . states typically adopt a derivative of the state name, e.g., Indianan or Indianian , natives of Indiana never use these demonyms. The State of Indiana adopted the nickname " Hoosier State " more than 150 years ago.

He was an American singer - songwriter, dancer, actor, choreographer, published poet, businessman, philanthropist and record producer . Referred to as the King of Pop , he is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records while also being regarded as one of the most influential .

  7. 7. David Letterman <ul><li>David Michael Letterman was born April 12, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is an American television host and comedian . He hosts the late night television talk show , Late Show with David Letterman . </li></ul>Hehehe. Oh Davey, you’re so funny!
  8. 8. Amelia Earhart <ul><li>Amelia Mary Earhart was born July 24, 1897; missing July 2, 1937; declared legally dead January 5, 1939 ) was a noted American aviation pioneer and author . Earhart was the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross , awarded for becoming the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean . She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety - Nines , an organization for female pilots. </li></ul>Amelia, you’re so fly!

He grew up in Indiana and served as the 16th President of the United States from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865.
