    2. 2. WHAT IS A CHATEAUX?A chateaux is “a manor house or residence of the lordof the manor or a country house of nobility or gentry,with or without fortifications, originally—and still mostfrequently—in French-speaking regions. (wikipedia)They were commonly built by French kings.
    3. 3. LOIRE VALLEYThe Loire Chateaux is one very common chateaux.It is located in Central FranceThey were built during the period of the FrenchRenaissance and commonly known as the “Garden ofFrance.”

BACKGROUND INFO ON CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBORDThe Chambord Chateaux is very known because it isconsidered different from others.It has a mix of French Renaissance and Medievalforms to it but it also consists of Italian structures.It was constructed by King François I, but was nevercompleted.King François I built in order to stay close to his wife,Julien de Clermont.

MORE INFO ON THE CHAMBORD CHATEAUThis chateaux is the largest in the Loire Valley.It was also built to serve as a hunting lodge.Some think that Leonardo da Vinci may have had aninput on the chateaux and designed it himself.The chateaux was altered between 1519 through 1547and was getting close to completion.

ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTIONThe Chambord Chateaux is pretty typical of castlearchitecture.It consists of a keep, corner towers, and is alsosurrounded by a moat as a defense mechanism.The interior of the chateaux is where is becomes anexample of the French and Italian styles put together.It has grouping rooms into self-contained suites.

    9. 9. “STEP THREE”The chateau I choose for step three is called ChâteauDelande.It is located in the region Burgundy in France.It is around 600 years old and can fit up to 61 peopleat a time.The interior had marble fireplaces, beamed ceilings,and oak parquet floors.
