  1. 1. FKCC Library MLA Format Tips MLA Format What is MLA (Modern Language Association) Format? It is the format style for your essay paper. MLA format also includes punctuation & quotation guidelines, and your works cited page. Revisions to MLA effective April 2009

FKCC Library MLA Format Tips <ul><li>The Format </li></ul><ul><li>Follow your the instructor’s instructions. </li></ul><ul><li>1 inch margins on all sides of paper </li></ul><ul><li>Double space </li></ul><ul><li>The header should be at the top right hand corner of each page, ½ inch below the top edge and should include: Your last name, and page number </li></ul>

FKCC Library MLA Format Tips <ul><li>The First Page </li></ul><ul><li>No title page is needed unless your instructor requests one </li></ul><ul><li>The upper left hand corner should include: Your name, your instructor’s name, the course, the date </li></ul><ul><li>The title should be centered on the next line </li></ul>
