Web 2.0: The Make Over Activity The Challenge The Challenge <ul><li>Identify the ASTC member site and take a look at their Web 1.0 presence. </li></ul><ul><li>Learn about the museum's mission and try to get a sense of their audience and institutional culture. </li></ul><ul><li>Identify simple and sustainable ways in which they can update their Web approach. </li></ul>

Web 2.0: The Make Over Activity The Challenge The Challenge <ul><li>Focus on methods that build on existing outreach efforts. </li></ul><ul><li>Look for ways to involve visitors and to connect with them in new ways and in new places. </li></ul><ul><li>Be specific. Detail new approaches, implementation of existing technologies, and the use of popular social sites and Web services. </li></ul>

And how does your approach help the museum meet these goals? </li></ul><ul><li>How does your strategy help the museum connect with visitors (or potential visitors)? </li></ul><ul><li>Are their marketing considerations, or other additional benefits associated with your approach? </li></ul><ul><li>What are the issues or concerns in implementing your strategy? Is there a downside? </li></ul>
  8. 8. Web 2.0: The Make Over Activity Judging and the Prize Judging and the Prize <ul><li>Everyone in the group can vote for their favorite Web make over (no, you can't vote for your own). The winning team will receive the very coveted and historically significant rubber chicken! </li></ul>
