THEOREM
- States that the proportion
or percentage of any data
set that lies within k
standard deviations of the
mean (where k is any
positive integer greater than
1) is at least 1- 1/k².
Example 1:
If the mean score of the
students enrolled in Business
Statistics class is 66 points with
a standard deviations of 5
points, at least what percentage
of the scores must lie between
46 and 86?
Example 2:
The mean age of employees
in a certain company is 42 and
the standard deviation is 7.
find the two values between
which must lie at least 8/9 of
the data.
