If you prefer to just type a question do that in the chat box shown in the lower left corner of your screen you can submit questions via text. And I will answer them for you.So let’s test out the chat box. If you can here me, type Yes in the chat box and then press enter to submit.

I also have an evangelical division of my company called Divine Design where I offer Christian life coaching.
• So here is what we are going to cover together today.
• But before we go any further, let’s open this session with a quick prayer. If you have any specific prayer requests, would you please submit them in the chat box now?
• Alright, so let’s get starte!Let’s first talk about the common perception of our relationship to God when we go through a crisis:-First we are in what we would call a “productive” season in our life and we are feeling rather proud of ourselves.-Then the crisis hits, we immediately revert to asking ourselves, and God “what did I do wrong?” Our self worth begins to go down.- Then, when God doesn’t answer us right back – as if we had sent him a text message and expect an immediate response – we begin to assume the God either doesn’t’ care, or has abandoned you. This can often lead to a lost of faith, and you searching for answers in the wrong places – such as psychics, tarot cards, weegie boards, gambling and any other false “faith” you can think of. You may even look for jobs that don’t glorify the gifts that God has blessed you with. (I’ll share an example of this later in the presentation!)
• So, in review, here are the myths we begin to believe when we are presented with a trial.
• Thankfully, God’s reality is quite different than the common perception! So let’s begin again: We start in a productive outward season doing God’s work (hopefully)Then Change happens – be it at the hands of God or the devil. Sometimes to do the inward work, God takes away the outer work to get our attentionStart seeing transition as the time when God instills your next move in your heart.Regardless if the change was caused by God or Satan, the beauty is that God will always use the change or crisis for future good if you seek him.HERE (click) is the major shift in perspective that needs to take place. When the commoner would feel helpless, abandoned and lost. Christians know better! Despite what humans may view as “productive” work, it is during times of trials and tribulations where God take the reins and does the inner work with you. However, if you seek the wrong council or worship the wrong “God” such as money, fame, etc. just as a means of “moving forward in some way” be warned! According to Isaiah 8:20-22 “If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. Distressed and hungry, they will roam though the land,; when they are famished they will become enraged and looking upward, will curse their kind and their God. Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.”What this means is that there are many false gods that may appear to ‘save’ you from your current state. Take money for example. You may think, all I need is money or a job and live would be perfect again. But is that sustainable? Will money truly save you in the long run? Is that why God put you on this earth?Instead, this is your time to seek God and be patient. When you seek God’s wisdom he will raise you to a higher level of purpose while false gods will act just as a band aid.
• What do we know about our relationship with God? (scribe)1 Min of 4 Mins
• Open Poll 1I totally understand God! I wonder what You have in store for me now?Why Me?Thank You God!
• So, let’s look at how God may be at work for you in this inward seasons.(next slide for options)
• One potential answer to this question could be that1) God is grooming you for a higher calling in the future. God strategically places obstacles and challenges in our path for REASONS. Here is one Example: In the story of Esther, God made her queen. This was confusing to the public at that time but He had a plan for her. He always has a plan and that means He has one for you right now too! Maybe he is grooming you for something specific in the future?Just because we don’t understand why God does things, doesn’t mean they are not in our best interest. Remember, we see the world through human eyes, God sees the world on a whole other level. What is lifetime to us is merely a second to him. Our time on earth is a grooming process for his heavenly kingdom. In heaven we wont have any trials and tribulations. So who are we to whine and complain with all the glories that are in store for us in the future. We must move from a mentality of selfishness to sacrefice.
• 2) Another possibility is that God wants to teach you something. As an example: A few months ago one of the pastors at my church gave a testimony of a defining moment in his life.God called him away from his friends and family and church community to go out to California and attend Graduate school. While there he was so miserable, but eventually he realized he needed to be stripped of all the “stuff” to realize that GOD was enough and he needed to go back to that foundational relationship. It is so common for us to make our JOBS and the pursuit of MONEY and THINGS our “false Gods”. We ignore our church and our family and pour our hearts and souls into our careers at the expense of the others. We “define” ourselves by our titles and positions and judge our character in the eyes of our bosses performance review not in God’s performance review. Ask yourself, if I hadn’t gone encountered this trial, would I be seeking God like I am today? Did God need to remove the “junk” in my life to get my attention?
• Regardless of why you have encountered this trial in your life… worrying will NOT help your situation. GOD UNDERSTANDS AND HE WILL PROVIDE FOR YOU AS LONG AS YOU HAVE FAITH AND SEEK HIM. Today we will talk about what you CAN do! Such as communicate with God. Pray and ask him to give you clarity on your next steps. Identify your spiritual gifts and put them to use to expand His kingdom!
• Let’s take the next 60 seconds in private silent prayer. Bow your heads, and ask God for wisdom. Ask him to open your eyes and your mind to learn the lessons that he has in store for you. Pray to him for clarity and direction.
• So let’s now talk about what we can do while God is at work in our inward season of transition. I love the story of Noah. I think sometimes the story emphasizes the ark and the animals and the rain, but neglects to focus on Noah’s relationship and obedience to God. Can you imagine what at CRAZY calling Noah had? What if God told you today to go build a boat and collect specimens of every animal on earth! You would think that is CRAZY! But Noah was obedient and he DID HIS PART and trusted God to do the rest.Often we worry too much about all the details and neglect to do the things we know we have control over. Do you part, and trust that God is doing his. Now that we understand that 1)we are in this place in our lives FOR A REASON and 2)we can trust that GOD WILL PROVIDE, let’s look at ‘our part’ of the situation. Like Noah, what can we do to be obedient to God’s plan for us?(chat if time)
• Here are my suggested action steps for you to walk like Noah. One of the first steps I suggest is to gain clarity. We can do this by growing our relationship with God. The #1 thing that god seeks from you GOD is simply a relationship with you!
• One of the best ways to build our relationship with God is to communicate with him daily. You can do this by reading his word (the Bible) and praying.Show Him that you are appreciative of what you have. If you can’t appreciate what you have, why would he give you more?
• Another thing that can help you gain clarity is to raise your personal awareness level regarding your spiritual gifts. And then putting them to use!Ministries can be working with children, the elderly, cooking, cleaning, organizing books and resources, praying, addiction recovery, clerical work, music, web design, you name it! For example, Engineer who helps widow’s ministry in fixing up homes and doing handy work. Teacher who volunteer tutors or helps in children’s ministry.Often by using your spiritual gifts, God will put the right people in your path for your next career move. Here you will see a couple links to Spiritual Gift Assessments. These are just tools, but God’s word trumps
• In addition to your spiritual gifts, take a look at your passions, personality and experiences that you can provide. What are the ones that you have inside you that you can share with the world?
• Pick 2-3 of these questions and answer them on a scrap piece of paper.
• Explain exercise showing worksheets. In this Clarity Exercise I want you to take your mind off conventional thinking. Just because you used to be a CPA doesn’t mean you HAVE to re-enter the work force as an accountant. Your ministry and your work don’t have to be separate things. In the Clarity Exercise, focus on the boxes that read:I’m Awesome/I loveI’m ok/ I loveI’m Awesome/ I likeI’m ok/ I like10 min of 30
• Again, this is JUST A TOOL. If God calls you to step out in an area you have NO experience in, then that is just great! However, this chart is a place to start your thought process. Pray on this exercise and how to apply the knowledge gained from it.BE PATIENT! Trusting God when nothing seems to happen is difficult. But it is even harder to live with the consequences of taking matters into our own human hands. Resist the temptation to think God has forgotten you. Have patience and courage to wait for God to act.15 Min of 45
• When opportunities present themselves, and they will, stay true to your values. Ask God for clarity to know if that opportunity is his will for you. Don’t mistake Satan’s temptations of instant gratification. This kind of gratification is not sustainable, only God’s love is sustainable. Give personal testimony of Andrew’s job offer….3 min of 48

24. 24. Why me?
James 1:1-27
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. 25. 25. Now What?
Matthew 6:31
So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be give to you as well.
‘Here I am. Send me!’
Presentation developed by Kelly Olin. 26. 26. Private Prayer
In private prayer now, ask God to speak to you.
27. 27. Doing Your Part
Genesis 7:16 - The story of Noah
God took care of the details of that job (all the animals) while Noah was doing his part by building the ark. Often we do just the opposite of Noah. We worry about the details over which we have no control, while neglecting specific areas (such as attitudes, relationships, responsibilities) that are under our control. Like Noah, concentrate on what God has given you to do, and leave the rest to God.
‘Here I am. Send me!’
Presentation developed by Kelly Olin.
