  1. 1. The Design Cycle by Keff Ng http://istianjinelearning.org/technology/the-design-cycle/
  2. 2. InvestigateTo find out about theproblem. To comprehend withthe task. Know yourGOALResearch about thetopic. http://www.wire.wisc.edu/yourself/Settinggoals/accomplishgoals.aspx Remember what you have to accomplish.
  3. 3. DesignTo design a process for working on the projectCreate a WORK FLOW, basically how I work on thistask. How should I work on the task productively?Break down big tasks into smaller, simpler ones, partby part. Individual Project Group Project Rank tasks in order. Distribute tasks among members. Content over design.
  4. 4. PlanTo plan out the logistics of the projectCreate a timetable. How long will it take to completethe project?Make a script, find the necessary materials, or doother tasks needed to reach the GOAL.
  5. 5. CreateActual making of the projectDO the project.Stick to the timetableSet deadlines for each taskFollow the schedule, stick to the deadlinesTake a break if necessary
  6. 6. EvaluateReview content to see if there is room forimprovement.Did the final product achieve the main goal?Is it up to the Standards and Rubrics?Ask for an honest opinion and ask for suggestions tomake it better. What went well? What could have been done to makeit better?
  7. 7. Example: Mythbusters Video ... when used in our Mythbusters Video Design Cycle... Project Researched about Mythbuster. Created Investigate proposal for Mythbuster. Planned script, decided on video angles, Design dialogue, props, materials Created timetable, A/V script, Plan prepared/bought materials Shot video, edited clips on Imovie, Create published on Youtube Let other groups watch video for Evaluate evaluation
  8. 8. Example: Mythbusters Video Investigate Our group decided that the Pop Rocks-Coke myth was the most viable option. We immediately began further research on this topic, searching for articles, videos and pictures.
  9. 9. Example: Mythbusters Video DesignWe drafted on the script and put our initial ideas there. We also discussed about the dialogue, subtitles, materials, needed, etc.
  10. 10. Example: Mythbusters Video We created the Plan timetable and final script for which we agreedto follow. We also bought the required materials.
  11. 11. Example: Mythbusters Video Create Our group shot the video in school based on the A/Vscript. Afterwards, I began putting up the clips needed for the video and sorted them out in order. I also put subtitles, transitions, music, etc.
  12. 12. After I finished making the video, Ipublished it on Youtube and then sent the link to the teacher.
  13. 13. Example: Mythbusters Video Evaluate We had a session inComputer class that let other groups evaluate our video. They had to answer thequestions “What went well?”“What could have been doneto make it better?” This way, we can still improve on our video, if necessary. If you follow all 5 steps, you can easily attain an A+.
