  2. 2. EXPRESSING EMOTION: <ul><ul><li>Verbal Communication- expressing and understanding thoughts and emotions by talking </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Active Listening- is not only hearing what someone says something to you, but asking questions to show you understand. </li></ul></ul>

EXPRESSING EMOTION: <ul><ul><li>Non- Verbal Communication- when someone uses their body language  to express thoughts and emotions by using face, hands, and posture </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Activity- Looking at the following pictures, can you figure out what emotion they are trying to express using their body language? </li></ul></ul>

EXPRESSING EMOTION <ul><li>Visually and Hearing Impaired- Those who are visually impaired can still hear how people and can tell how they are expressing emotion.  Those who have impaired hearing have sign language to express emotion and can see peoples body language. </li></ul>Sign language has words and grammar which make it VERBAL .
