             THE OUTSIDERS – CHAPTER 4 VOCAB

   1. APPREHENSIVE – (Adjective)
        a. Uneasy or fearful about something that might happen




   2. CONTEMPTUOUSLY – (Adverb)
        a. The feeling with which a person regards anything considered mean, vile,
           or worthless; disdain; scorn.




   3. DEFIANCE – (Noun)
        a. A daring or bold resistance to authority or to any opposing force.




   4. PREMONITION – (Noun)
        a. A feeling of anticipation of or anxiety over a future event; presentiment




   5. REFORMATORY – (Noun)
        a. An institution for reforming young offenders, especially minors.




   6. RUEFULLY– (Adverb)
        a. Feeling, showing, or expressing sorrow or pity; mournful.




   7. UNCEASINGLY – (ADV)
        a. Not ceasing or stopping; continuous.
