Mahindra Satyam posts profit in Q1, Q2  Mahindra Satyam has posted consolidated profit of Rs 23.30 crore for the July-September period this fiscal.  Company had announced its audited financial results for the two fiscals--- 2008-09 and 2009-10.  The new promoters of the Satyam Computer , had sought time to declare the financial results.  Performance over the last two quarters clearly reflects the stability  Retained our traditional strengths and leadership in enterprise business solutions and integrated engineering services.

Google urges US to challenge China Internet curbs  Challenge a growing list of Internet restrictions in China and around the world .  Negotiate new trade deals to protect the free flow of online information.  More than 40 governments now engage in broad- scale restriction of online information, a tenfold increase from just a decade ago.  China is the world's largest Internet market with 420 million users.

Kapil Sibal to handle Telecom in addition to HRD Ministry  Given the additional charge of the Telecom Ministry by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a development  Official sources said Sibal will hold the charge of the Ministry held by A Raja , who yesterday resigned facing allegations of scam in 2G spectrum allocation.  Ministry is facing allegations of corruption of huge magnitude.  Sibal, a renowned lawyer-turned-politician.  V Narayansamy, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, was given additional charge of Department of Personnel and Training.

RIM to sell tablet computer for less than $500 take on iPAD  Research in motion the maker of blackberry said it will begin selling tablet computer in North America in the first quarter for $500 as it takes on Apple iPAD.  The product will be at competitive prices.  RIM is trying to differentiate itself from Apple by stressing the ability of its Playbook tablet to handle Adobe Systems Flash technology that underpins much of the video content of the video.

Vedanta finalizes consortium of banks to fund $6 bn for Cairn Deal  Finalized a consortium of banks which will fund upto $6 billion of debt.  Standard Chartered Bank is the lead arranger for the loan and will be funding upto $2 billion as part of the consortium.  The loan will be a combination of short-term and long- term financing.  Raise bridge loans of upto $2.5 billion which will have a tenure of between 12-18 months. The remaining $3.5 billion will be long-term loans with a tenure of 5-7 years.  Company is planning to list its Zambian Konkola Copper Mines division on the London Stock Exchange.
