  5. 5. Office 365
  6. 6. Office 365 Office 365 is a subscription-based online office and software plus services suite which offers access to various services and software built around the Microsoft Office platform.
  7. 7. To Buy or Rent? For the first time Microsoft is tempting Office users to rent, not own, software that for decades they've bought as a standalone program. So, should you buy or should you rent? There is no one answer. Let's take a closer look at your options and consider the pros and cons before we decide.
  8. 8. Benefits
  9. 9. Benefits Cost effective • Lower upfront costs • Great for small businesses or start-ups • No server licensing costs • No maintenance costs • Easy to add or reduce users • Access to the complete suite • Office • SharePoint • Lync • Exchange
  10. 10. Benefits Office On Demand With Office on Demand, users can gain instant access to the basic productivity suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.
  11. 11. Benefits Plans that cater to all shapes and sizes
  12. 12. Benefits Perfect for those on the move (article) Lync 2013 for mobile clients Office web apps Access your Exchange email SharePoint Online on mobile OneNote
  13. 13. Limitations
  14. 14. Limitations Existing Investments • hardware • software • human resources Backing out those sunk costs could damage your ROI predictions. Tip: Keeping both hardware and software up-to-date falls on Microsoft and is backed by service guarantee.
  15. 15. Limitations Security and Regulatory Concerns Worried about potential risks with data exposure on systems, then Office 365 may be a difficult sell for you if your business has regulatory or cultural concerns about data on the cloud. Tip: When you sign up for enterprise licensing of Office 365, you also gain licensing rights to On Premise deployments. This capability makes it possible to store extremely sensitive data or user portals on site.
  16. 16. Limitations Revenue model isn't annuity- payment-compatible Streamlined payments: monthly costs, regular expense. That model doesn't work well for every business. Tip: Reducing cost in not only immediate monetary value but also in efficiency and resource reallocation benefits.
  17. 17. Limitations Expansion and Integration If you have various LOB applications integrating Office 365 with them will not be as easy as it is with on-premise variants where you have complete control. Also there are several restrictions in-terms of size and without a solid strategy you will not be able to survive for long. Tip: Plan about your data and size requirements for future scalability.
  18. 18. Limitations Internet Connection An already- congested Internet connection can only get exacerbated when everything moves off-site. If everyone on your LAN uses the same services on the network, migrating to a cloud-based service might not gain you much. Tip: If all your users are in the same office consider your network and usage concurrency.
