2012 is the 75th anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien’s
classic fantasy novel charting the adventures
of Bilbo Baggins. It will be marked with new
editions—including The Art of the Hobbit,
featuring the author’s sketches, drawings,
paintings and maps, many unpublished—and
the long-awaited two-part epic film from director
Peter Jackson at year-end.
