About Us<br />The Omaha Public Power District provides electricity to 13 counties in southeastern Nebraska, has a generating capacity of over 3,220 MW and the average industrial and commercial costs per kWh in 2009 were 4.62 and 7.29 cents respectively.<br />By the way OPPD was ranked 1st by J.D. Power and Associates - Midwest Region for Commercial Customer Satisfaction in 2009. <br />

  5. 5. Tax Incentive Program<br />Nebraska Advantage<br /> By offering investment and compensation credits this progressive, pro-business tax program can reduce or eliminate a company’s corporate income, sales and withholding taxes.<br />

  8. 8. Business Financing Programs<br />Invest Nebraska<br />New Venture Competitions are open to start-ups, existing businesses in, or willing to locate to, the area where the competition is held. Local competitions winners receive a direct capital investment of $20,000 - $30,000.  At the end of each year, a statewide competition with a $50,000 prize, open to all Nebraska businesses and startups. <br />
  9. 9. Business Financing Programs<br />Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act Authorizes incorporated cities and villages to collect and appropriate local tax dollars if approved by the local voters, for economic development purposes. <br />
