Mozambique is a 22 million inhabitant developing country of southeast Africa with a growth
rate of 7%. Like most of southern countries, it s economy is mostly based on Industrial
activities. Indeed, the industrial sector by itself represents about a third of the national volume
of business.
Also, economical activity is strongly centralized in the Maputo Province and more precisely
Maputo City (respectively 12,000 BMT and 30,000 BMT of the 66,000 BMT volume of
business). Subsequently, the area has the highest inhabitant concentration (2.3 billions of
inhabitants). Therefore, the region of Maputo has seen its industrial park expand considerably
in the last decades as a large variety of National and International investments have been
done in this sector.
