Pistone, an FBI undercover agent who infiltrate
d the Bonanno crime family in New York City dur
ing the 1970s, under the alias Donnie Brasco, ak
a, "The Jewel Man". Brasco maneuvers his way i
nto the confidence of an aging hit-man, Lefty R
uggiero, who vouches for him. As Donnie moves
deeper into the Mafia, he realizes that not only i
s he crossing the line between federal agent and
criminal, but also leading his friend Lefty to an a
lmost certain death.
It was nominated for an Academy Award for Bes
t Adapted Screenplay.
   The Lives of Others (German: Das Leben der And
    eren) is a 2006 German drama film, marking the f
    eature film debut of filmmaker Florian Henckel v
    on Donnersmarck.
   The film involves the monitoring of the cultural s
    cene of East Berlin by agents of the Stasi, the G
    DR's secret police. It stars Ulrich Mühe as Stasi C
    aptain Gerd Wiesler, Ulrich Tukur as his boss Ant
    on Grubitz, Sebastian Koch as the playwright Ge
    org Dreyman, and Martina Gedeck as Dreyman's
    lover, a prominent actress named Christa-Maria
    Sieland.
   The film was released in Germany on 23 March 2
    006. At the same time, the screenplay was publi
    shed by Suhrkamp Verlag. The Lives of Others wo
    n the 2006 Academy Award for Best Foreign Lan
    guage Film. The movie had earlier won seven De
    utscher Filmpreis awards – including those for b
    est film, best director, best screenplay, best acto
    r, and best supporting actor – after setting a new
    record with 11 nominations. It was nominated fo
    r Best Foreign Language Film at the 64th Golden
    Globe Awards. The Lives of Others cost US$2 mill
    ion[2] and grossed more than US$ 77 million worl
    dwide as of November 2007.

Plot
  Go-nee has lost his entire savings, save
    d over a period of 5 years, at a gambl
    ing joint. While Go-nee drinks heavil
    y, determined to throw away his life,
    he discovers that he was swindled by
    professional fraudulent gamblers, so
    -called ‘slickers’. To regain his money
    , Go-nee begins training to be the be
    st slicker under a master of gambling
    , Mr. Pyeong. Go-nee becomes famo
    us, wandering about different gambl
    ing places throughout the country wi
    th Pyeong. Moreover, Madam Jung
    who has never gotten along with Mr.
    Pyeong, begins to show interest in G

   Upon release, the film broke all opening box office records in India. I
    t was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and
    had the highest opening day collections for a Bollywood film. It also
    had the record for highest net collections in the first week for a Boll
    ywood film. Within 10 days of its release, the film crossed the 100 cr
    ore (US$18.9 million) mark in India and became the first film of 200
    9 to do so. The film also created a new box office record for a releas
    e in the last quarter of a year (October to December), breaking the p
    revious record set by Ghajini. It is also the highest-grossing film to b
    e released in the second half of the year (July to December), breakin
    g the previous record also held by Ghajini.
   3 Idiots has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time i
    n India,breaking the previous record set by Ghajini which also starre
    d Aamir Khan. It also became one of the few Indian films to become
    a major success in East Asian markets such as China,eventually brin
    ging its overseas total to US $23.9 million—the highest-grossing Bol
    lywood film of all time in overseas markets. It was expected to be th
    e first Indian film to be officially released on YouTube, within 12 wee
    ks of releasing in theaters on 25 March 2010, but finally got officially
    released on YouTube in May 2012.The film also went on to win man
    y awards, winning six Filmfare Awards including best film and best d
    irector, ten Star Screen Awards and sixteen IIFA awards.
   The film also uses real inventions by little known people in India's ba
    ckyards. The brains behind the innovations were Remya Jose, a stud
    ent from Kerala, who created the exercise-bicycle/washing-machin
    e, Mohammad Idris, a barber from Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh,
    who invented a bicycle-powered horse clipper, and Jahangir Painter,
    a painter from Maharashtra, who made the scooter-powered flour
    mill. This film was remade in Tamil as Nanban, by S. Shankar, which
    was released in January 2012. It has also been announced that there
    will be a Chinese remake of the film produced by Stephen Chow and
    that there are plans for a Hollywood remake produced in the United
    States.
