Rubbish Slide Show

 1. 1.

This is a

powerpoint about rubbish.

 2. 2.

Rubbish is everything we throw away. Everything we put in the bin goes to a rubbish dump.

 3. 3.

About 80% of all rubbish ends up in landfill sites.

 4. 4.

These are large pits filled with rubbish and covered up with soil. Most of these are already full up.

 5. 5.

Some waste like paint and cleaning products have chemicals in them which can leak into the soil and get into the water supply.

 6. 6.

Landfill sites also pollute the air with methane. Methane is a gas that is produced as the rubbish rots underground. Pipes inserted into the ground let the gas out so that there are no explosions underground.

 7. 7.

Also, if you burn rubbish, smoke pollutes the air.
