Children in Year 6 have participated in a Menu Contest, working in small groups.They decided, first of all, their group’s name. Then, they started thinking about the menu and the lay-out.Then, all the groups presented their work and they rated the Menus according to different items.
CHRISTMAS MENU WORKSHOP The famous Restaurant “Els Pins” in Barcelona Works Committee wants to employ new chefs. They are making a competition to decide what group will be the best. You are a group of chefs and you are going to participate on this competition. In order to participate you have to: Decide a “Special Menu” for Christmas Day. The menu consists of minimum: Starter – Main Dish – Desert – Drinks. The menu can be fixed or there can be different options to choose one of each. Don’t forget the traditional Catalan food of Christmas. Depending on the food quality and quantity, think and decide a price. You need to prepare an attractive Menu Lay-Out. Be CREATIVE and ORIGINAL, but don’t forget TRADITION. Present your menu to the Works Committee. * After all the presentations, all the groups of chefs will vote the menus. The Works Committee will send the Menus to WHCPS in Birmingham.
MENUS’ RATING/EVALUATION Each group decided a mark from 1 (minimum) to 5 (maximum) according to different items:1. Food quality2. Food originality3. Tradition included in the menu4. Good relation food-price5. Attractive menu lay-out
