The self-help literacy program that supports GlobalFusion’s Better Person Better Business Principle. By Rico Ruiz It has been a constant challenge for most people to progressduetoprocrastination or putting off tasks to a later event that should be done now. This module aims to target the root cause of delaying and address these issues by doing in the now. Today you know that deep inside your heart, you believe, you are willing to make the decision. To make the choice, that starting now - YOU COMMIT. You are committing to yourself, to take full responsibility of your life, and that you believe that you are capable of creating miracles. THERE IS NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW. IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO RISE! At the end of the module, student will: 1. Be Aware of procrastination and its ramifications 2. Be able to shift your“later” mind frame and move to a productive “do it now” mind frame 3.   2. 2. “YESTERDAY IS HISTORY TOMORROW IS A MYSTERY TODAY IS A GIFT THAT’S WHY ITS CALLED PRESENT” TIT FOR TAT (writing activity) TIT: Task Interferring Thoughts TAT: Task Activating Thoughs By CK Agbayani People spend a lot of time in the past or the future. This way of thinking is indeed a great way to make much of your life a lot more miserable and limited than necessary. The key to solving this problem is of course to live as much as you can in the only moment that you ever really live in and control - NOW. This module will make the participants the understand the importance of focusing on the now, identify what exactly they need to focus on and experience how they can apply the power of now to have the time of their life. 1. Being in the now What is being in the now? To illustrate, close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Smell... quite pleasant probably a scent of perfume Taste... taste what’s in your mouth, maybe a little of the food you just ate. Touch... your feet on the floor, gravity holding you down on your seat... feel the temperature Hearing... I hear people talking at the other room, the music. Open your eyes... wow here we all are. Our minds recognize each other. We are conscious of each other. This is being in the now. 1. Focus on what you have now (GRATITUDE) 2. Focus on what you want now (HAPPINESS) Time is emotion. Change is not a matter of ability, it’s a matter of motivation. Change what you focus on, change your experience of time, change your experience of life. A. Focus on the now B. What do I need to focus on now?  2. Importance of living in the now - Stop holding on to past successes and failure - Stop thinking too much about the future - Start living in the present a. Differentiate between focusing on what you have and focusing on what you don’t have b. Ask them the following questions: - What am I most grateful about in my life now? What about that makes me grateful? How does that make me feel? - What am I most proud about in my life now? What about that makes me proud? How does that make me feel? a. Differentiate between focusing on what you want not what you don’t what - What am I most happy about in my life now? What about that makes me happy? How does that make me feel? - What am I enjoying most in my life now? What about that do I enjoy? How does that make me feel? At the end of the module, you will: 1. Understand the importance of being in the now 2. Identify the things you need to focus on now 3. Discover the power of now and take action focus on the now

Ask them the following: - What am I committed to in my life right now? What about that makes me committed? How does that make me feel? - Who do I love? Who loves me? What about that makes me loving? How does that make me feel? a. Ask them the following: - What do I need to do in my life right now? What about that is needed from me? How does that make me feel? C. The Power of Now 1. Visualization Activity Close your eyes again. Look at yourself from the ceiling. Zoom out a bit and look at Bayanihan Center. Then zoom out some more and there’s Pasig... some more there’s Metro Manila. Zoom out some more and there’s Luzon. Zoom out some more and you see the Philippines, surrounded by the the blueness of the ocean. Zoom out some more and then there’s Planet Earth. What a beautiful planet, refelecting with color the radiance of the sun. Zoom out some more and you’ll see the solar system and the planets. And some more... you see the cosmos and the vastness universe. Here and now. And your mind has the ability to comprehend it and to understand it. And the ability to zoom back in an instant. To where we are now. What a wonderful journey. And what’s nice about it is it helps us to be connected in realizing how insignificant we are and yet how important we are in the here and now. Connected to the people in the world, the people around us, the things that happen, and see how wonderful it is to be alive at the present moment. It’s time of your life... the time to make things happen... the time to take action now... Now open your eyes... you are here... now as you read and listen to this song.
  4. 4. By Judith Emily Tiamsim Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow How Far Have You Come? This module focuses on identifying life-shaping events whichincludesmajorsetbacks and major accomplishment and identify what values it has contributed in character development and discover similar experiences with co- OTE participants. This module will utilize a Personal TIMELINE activity. At the end of the module, you will: A. Identify negative and positive shifts in life B. Be able to connect major setbacks and accomplishments to character growth C. Be able to create new meanings to these experiences to change the present and future What is your life story? It has been said that a “picture is worth a thousand words”. Today, we will attempt to put into pictures through our timeline activity YOUR STORY. Let us take this time to reflect and identify positive and negative shifts in our lives from the past until present. Include experiences that influenced your life both in a negative and positive way. This is your life story. Why is it important to reflect on your story? 1. Your story tells you who you are, what you believe, and how to best fulfill your emotional needs to matter and meaningfully connect with others and life around you. 2. Your story is powerful because your sense of self-worth lives in your storyline. Your thoughts and beliefs are powerful energies that can, and do, shape your emotional responses to past events in your life, and thus have fashioned your story. 3. You story will enable you to connect with others and will empower them to define you, thus, help shape and define your PRESENT and your FUTURE. How far have you really come? Are you a BETTER PERSON today? What is your future like? Draw a new line connected to your present timeline How do you see your future? PERSONAL TIMELINE ACTIVITY 1 Oslo Paper each Write down a statement of a DECLARATION OF YOUR FUTURE. CREATE A NEW LIFE STORY! Share a personal story. 1. Divide the paper into half lengthwise and draw a horizontal line. Place a positive sign on the upper right corner and negative sign on the lower right corner . 2. Identify positive and negative life-shaping event in each stage of your life (childhood, teen- age years and adulthood). Write down 1 positive and 1 negative each stage. 3. Place a value/ key lesson in each event as to how it has shaped you as a person

This module focuses on understanding obsession, and how we can set ourselves free from a negative obsession or at the very least have a degree of control over one, and just like the title, be able to create a positive one, a magnificent obsession. At the end of the module the students will: A. Have awareness, being aware of something we have gives us a choice.
