SeptiTech Processor Aerobic Zone Septic Tank Anaerobic Zone Wastewater Influent Nitrate Rich Recycle DENITRIFICATION Carbon from the incoming waste stream is used to denitrify the recycled Nitrate from the processor. Incoming ammonia passes through unchanged to the SeptiTech processor (Aerobic Zone). NITRIFICATION The SeptiTech processor is rich in dissolved oxygen. BOD is reduced and ammonia is oxidized to Nitrite and then to Nitrate. Water within the processor is recycled back to the head of the anoxic zone in the septic tank which is rich in Nitrate. The recycle percentage can be adjusted anywhere in the range from 100-400% of the discharge volume in order to optimize the total nitrogen removal. O 2 Discharge N DENITRIFICATION CYCLE
