  2. 2. The beginning<br />Started in 1990 by Wendy Kopp<br />Formed from her Thesis Paper from Princeton<br />She was only 21 and raised $2.5 million for Teach for America<br />During 1990 500 men and women began teaching in six low income communities.<br />
  3. 3. The Mission<br />Our mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort.<br />
  4. 4. Are you qualified?<br />“We seek individuals- from all backgrounds and career interest- who have what it takes to excel as teachers and to ultimately exert broader societal influence in our nation.”- Wendy Kopp<br /><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college.
