2. 2. Elephants
10 by 14 inches
2007
This oil painting describes the family life of an elephant herd. I decided to paint this because of my love for elephants.
3. 3. Nature Mask
8 by 5 inches
2008
The assignment was to create a clay mask. My inspiration was a garden. It includes three dimensional lady bug beauty mark, carrot nose, leaf lip and flowery eye.
4. 4. Hair in the Wind
56 by 42 inchesWork in progress.
This is a collaborative three dimensional piece. My role in the project was coming up with the idea, painting the grass background, spray painting the hair, and currently helping to apply the tiles to the zebra. Our art teacher had a lot of mosaic tiles and wanted us to create a project using them.
5. 5. Butterfly
14 by 18 inches
2008
For this butterfly I used colored pencils. The assignment was to draw a butterfly from a photograph.
6. 6. Sarah
9 by 9 inches
2006
This is a watercolor of a Tibetan woman. I chose this picture because I wanted to experiment with this medium.
7. 7. Winter Bear
13 by 17 inches
2005
This is one of my earlier attempts with watercolor. I chose this subject because of all the bears surrounding my art teacher’s studio.
8. 8. Wood Box
10 by 5 by 3 inches
2009
This box was my first attempt at woodworking. It is made out of pine. Includes inlay and feather painting.
9. 9. Sea Horse
24 by 10 by 21 inches
2010
This is my second woodworking project. I was inspired by the ocean- you’ll notice the sea turtles, ocean waves, seaweed mane, and fish eyes.
10. 10. Pepper
14 by 9 inches
2008
The assignment was to use oil pastels to draw a pepper from a photograph. This was my first attempt with oil pastels.
11. 11. Flamingo
52 by 14 inches
2005
The assignment was to create a silk scarf. I chose to do a flamingo because I had just returned from Florida and admired them there.
12. 12. Among the Trees
15 by 17 inches
2005
This is a pencil drawing. I chose to do this wild cat because I needed to work on my shading.
13. 13. Hopscotch
6 by 4 inches
2008
This is a linoleum tile print. The assignment was to design a print to carve out of linoleum tile and then make various prints of it.
