The Cube™ has a standard Linux operating system <ul><li>The Cube™ has a standard Linux operating system and can front end DAS (SAS/SATA), SAN (FC/iSCSI), Flash, or RAM Based storage. </li></ul><ul><li>The Cube™ ensures that the storage device can be accessed in parallel over the fabric at speeds that are magnitudes faster than any SAN technology, while providing iSCSI management semantics for ease of use. </li></ul><ul><li>In addition, it can be deployed as a tier one storage cache in front of slower DAS or FC SAN storage systems. </li></ul>
  8. 12. Reliability and Availability <ul><li>The Cube™is designed to maintain the highest transport reliability and availability, and support link bonding, multi-pathing, mirroring, and fail-over. It also allows users to maximize performance and availability while using commodity, low-cost hardware elements. </li></ul><ul><li>Unlike existing systems that can support a few 100K I/O per second at the most, the Cube™ can deliver millions of I/Os at low latency with gigabytes of throughput. </li></ul><ul><li>The Cube’s ™ zero-copy architecture leverages RDMA, allowing it to saturate the server I/O busses and deliver more than 5GB/s of bandwidth per storage server/gateway. </li></ul><ul><li>The Cube™ incorporates multiple ultra-fast data mover processes these communicate directly with the NIC/HCA hardware and leverage hardware offload capabilities to process storage transactions. This enables unprecedented IOPs performance and a very low access time of only a few dozen microseconds end-to-end. </li></ul>

Switching Fabric: Grid Director™ 4036E <ul><li>40Gb/s InfiniBand switch with integrated low-latency Ethernet gateway. </li></ul><ul><li>The Grid Director 4036E is a high performance, low-latency and fully non-blocking InfiniBand switch, which includes a built-in, low-latency Ethernet gateway for bridging traffic to and from Ethernet-based networks or storage. </li></ul><ul><li>This self-contained solution combines an InfiniBand switch, an embedded subnet manager, and a built-in, hardware-based low-latency Ethernet gateway in a compact 1U device. </li></ul><ul><li>With thirty-four 40Gb/s InfiniBand ports (delivering 2.72 Tb/s), less than 100 nanoseconds of port-to-port latency, and two 10Gb Ethernet ports bridging traffic in less than one microsecond, I/O bottlenecks are removed making applications operate at maximum efficiency, and its smart design makes it useful for both small and large clusters. </li></ul>
