  9. 9.  For every ton of paper recycled you can save 17 trees.  We throw away enough aluminum every three months to rebuild an entire fleet of planes.  One county saves ½ million trees each year by recycling.  If we recycled all of the newspapers printed in the U.S. on a typical Sunday, we would save 550,000 trees.
