In today's economy various different versions and types of discount stores are popping up in just
about every city and town across the country.
With so many different discount retail stores in the marketplace, can these shops really offer you
some decent bargains, or are they just selling poor quality at a lower price?
When it comes to finding those great bargains, one thing seems to hold true no matter where you
might be shopping and that is you just need to exercise some patience and persistence.
For example, if you're like many people there are a number of times throughout the year that you
send a card to a loved one or friend. With just a bit of looking you can quite readily find boxes of
discounted cards that might save you as much as two to three dollars per card over the price at a
regular retail outlet. And these cards are still just as funny, romantic, or caring as those more
expensive ones.
Discount stores are a wealth of deals when your looking for disposable paper or party items. Why
pay retail prices for paper decorations, paper plates, and throw away cups and napkins and such.
Buying these items at a retail store will quickly eat up all your party budget. Speaking of paper
products, don't forget wrapping paper and gift bags as well. Discount stores will usually have a
great stock and selection of these types items.
Of course, discount store quality doesn't fit the bill for all your gift buying needs and you'll have to
be the judge for that, but even if you don't get the primary gifts at the discount store, you can still
find plenty of accessory and fun little items to use as fun add on gifts.
Kids gifts are plentiful at discount stores and you can really stock up on fun gifts for kids. For the
most part, the discount store gifts would be used more for stocking stuffer types of gifts for the kids
and probably not the primary gift, but these stores are great for rounding out the other gifts you
buy for your kids... and they are very easy on your budget... and kids get even more prizes to
open!
There are also plenty of items at the discount stores that you can use to accessorize your home.
Sure these items aren't the high quality of most retail stores, but for items that you are going to
use on a shelf or the tops of your cabinets, they look great from a distance and fit the bill perfectly.
And when it comes time to replace the items you aren't busting your budget either!
Office supplies and school supplies are also abundant at discount stores. You can save a lot of
money on items such as pencils, pens, notebooks, etc. Don't just automatically go to the retail
stores for these types of items... it's an expensive habit especially when, for these types of items,

There are a variety of quality bargains that you can find if you just take the time to occasionally
stop by your local discount store. Just remember it is all about your expectations when you are
perusing the shelves... if high quality and durability is a priority for the item you are looking for then
the discount stores don't fit the bill, but for the right items you can save a bundle.
If you aren't at least checking out the discount stores for many of your every day usable items then
you're probably spending too much. If nothing else, stop by and do some price comparing and
you'll find that somewhere in that store there is money to be saved.
