  1. 1. PG Events Installation Instruction © PilotGroup.Net 2010
  2. 2. Call 1-866-468-1015, 1-888-228-8440 (toll free) Check up PG Events system requirements: - PHP 4.0 or greater (for PHP 5 - MySQL extention should be installed) - MySQL 3.23.0 or greater. MySQL-encoding: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8_general_ci). MySQL connection compatibility: UTF-8 - Zend Optimizer - open_basedir restriction switched off (optional but preferable) - Cronjobs/scheduler support (necessary for site users to receive auto email alerts) - gd2lib installed on your server (hosting) Follow the installation instructions: 1. Download PG Events software archive, extract the files and upload them to your ftp site using any FTP client which you have installed at your computer. Note: With Basic License use Binary transfer mode when uploading source codes. This is a strict requirement of Zend encoded files. 2. Create an empty MySQL database and add a user to this database. Database user should have full rights because the script will use this user’s parameters to populate the database with tables and data. Note: To be on the safe side, it’s advised to make a backup of the whole database at least once a month. Please don’t forget to do it. 3. Give CHMOD 777 (full permissions) to the following script folders: temp temptemplates_c templogs tempcountries tempcaptcha tempcache temprss uploads uploads5 uploads5image uploads2 uploads2image uploadsdatasource_icons uploadsdefault uploadsdefaultphotos uploadsdefaultvideo installinstall_log.txt config.php © 2010 Pilot Group Ltd. 3. 3. Call 1-866-468-1015, 1-888-228-8440 (toll free) Note: CHMOD 777 (rwxrwxrwx) - you can do that by right clicking on the script file or directory in your FTP client software dialog box and choosing CHMOD or Set File Attributes. Note 2: Sometimes you will have to give CHMOD 777 to public_html (or www) directory and this is definitely forbidden by most of hosting companies. You shouldn’t be worried about it because you can simply give CHMOD 777 for the installation period and return to the original permissions level right after it. Note 3: If you use a Windows server, you should either give all rights to Internet Guest account for the above-mentioned folder yourself or ask your hosting company support team to do it. 4. Go to http://www.yourdomain.com/install/ (where www.yourdomain.com is your domain name) 5. Install the script (all data will be inserted by installation script and you are just to check it up and correct if anything is wrong) © 2010 Pilot Group Ltd. All rights reserved.
