  1. 1. A Tabernacle View of Thanksgiving, Praise, and Worship Joseph Clark
  2. 2. The Outer Courts = Thanksgiving
  3. 3. Thanksgiving is an expression of gratitude forwhat someone has done for you.
  4. 4. Brazen Altar- points us to the sacrifice madeby Jesus on the cross.Brazen Laver- a picture of reflection. It wasused by the Priests to be able to identify theirimpurities and then wash them away.
  5. 5. After thanking him for the cross we shouldthen thank him for how he has changed ourlives for the better by first showing us what isdirty and then providing for us what we needto clean it.
  6. 6. Inner Court = Praise
  7. 7. Praise is not about what God has done, but it isable who God is.
  8. 8. Table of Shew Bread = the word of God. It isonly through spending time in the word thatGod will begin to show himself to you.Menorah = understanding. As you read theBible the light of God begins to shine newunderstanding on things that caused confusionbefore.Altar of Incense = prayer.
  9. 9. As you approach God with Thanksgiving forwhat he has done, then begin to read his wordby the light of HIS understanding your prayersturn into praise for who God is.
  10. 10. Holy of Holies = Worship
  11. 11. In the Holy of Holies we find items that pointto the very nature of who God is.
  12. 12. The Ark of the CovenantMannaThe Ten CommandmentsAaron’s rod that budded
  13. 13. Manna = God’s ability to provide for the oneshe loves.Ten Commandments = God’s desire to teachhis children the right things to do and how totreat others.Aaron’s rod that budded = God wants hischildren to be set apart.
  14. 14. As we look at these qualities of God illustratedby the things found in the Holy of Holies wecan start to understand true worship.Worship is not done with just words. Trueworship takes action. When you really worship someone you try tobecome as much like that person as you can.
  15. 15. When we see a small boy trying to doeverything he sees his father do we say “Thatboy worships his father,” likewise we shouldtry to do everything we see our heavenly fatherdo.
  16. 16. That is true worship
  17. 17. As we thank him for what he has done andpraise him for who he is, we a line ourselves toact the way he would act. This is seen throughour love for others. Looking at the items in theHoly of Holies reveals to us what love is reallyabout. It is putting others first. As we live ourlives this way we are worshiping God becausewe are trying to be just like him.
  18. 18. Mathew 2237Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love theLord thy God with all thy heart, and with allthy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is thefirst and great commandment. 39 And thesecond is like unto it, Thou shalt love thyneighbour as thyself. 40 On these twocommandments hang all the law and theprophets.
