  • That’s me.
  • Cloud computing is Internet- ("cloud-") based development and use of computer technology ("computing").[1] In concept, it is a paradigm shift whereby details are abstracted from the users who no longer need knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them.[2] It typically involves the provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources as a service over the Internet.[3][4]

  • And everywhere
  • Data center optimization, alternative energy, weee, reach, putting things into the cloud,…
  • ICT is pervasing our everyday. The new digital natives. I’m actually surprised that we do not reflect more about this! Think 10 years ago!
  • Think that and extend it to all kids around the globe! You are giving them all knowledge in the world. Empowerment!

  • PEIR (Personal Environmental Impact Report) is a sensing application developed at UCLA that allows you to use your mobile phone to explore and share how you impact the environment and how the environment impacts you. It doesn’t rely on demographics for calculating the carbon impact, but it uses location data from mobile phones to calculate a dynamic report of the environmental impact. It detects if the user is walking or driving and calculates the CO2 and particulates depending on the car model, the weather, the road type, the time of the day. PEIR uses advanced self-monitoring but it also provides the possibility for sharing and comparing with other users, including via Facebook
