  • I know that while making the choice to recover was crucial, and having the will comes in handy, but it is the girls in this program and their support that has helped me make it this far. I have been in recovery without purging for two months. I know I still have a long way to go, but I could not imagine doing it on my own. Even in this short amount of time, I can see myself emerging and the world is opening up before me. I have started making plans to do the things I’ve wanted to do for years, but that got lost in my bulimia cycle. Just taking that first step in recovery, has made me see what is really important. ★★★ http://t.cn/A6Pq6KF6

  2. 2. Types of Essays Informative Argumentative Persuasive Descriptive Cause and effect
  3. 3. How to write an Informative essay? The informative essay is one of the mostchallenging of all writing assignments. Youessentially take on the role of teacher/expert for ageneral audience that, you have to assume, isunfamiliar with your topic or thesis. This puts a lotof pressure on you to be both informative andinteresting. All you have to do, however, is planout your essay and structure it in a certain waythat entails less stress for you and moreenjoyment and satisfaction when writing it
  4. 4. Step 1 Decide on a topic that you think is important andthat your readers could benefit from knowingmore about. The example well use is eating disorders.
  5. 5. Step 2 Write down a tentative thesis statement. What isit that you want to share with your readers? Dontobsess about it too much at this stage, as you willlikely have to revise your thesis somewhat as youconduct your research and write the actual essay.Just try to write down something specific and(hopefully) interesting. Such as, eating disorderslead to a large number of preventable deaths.
  6. 6. Step 3 Draft an outline listing all the questions youhave about your topic, all the things you thinkyou know about it, and any personal experiencesor observations you may have. For instance: Howmany people suffer from eating disorders? Howmany are men and how many are women? Whatage group suffers from them the most? Whatsthe most common eating disorder?
  7. 7. Step 4 Research your topic online and in the library.Find authoritative, credible sources. To learnmore about your topic you could also interviewpeople who are involved with the topic.
  8. 8. Step 5 Write your essay. Begin the opening paragraphwith a hook to lure the readers interest. Use thisparagraph to provide a lead-in to the topic andsome general context for the issue to bediscussed. One possible hook that might work forour example: Anorexia is the leading killer ofteenage girls.
  9. 9. Step 6 Use the body of your essay to inform your reader about the specifics of your topic. Provide interesting details that they likely dont already know, or present common knowledge in a new light.
  10. 10. Step 7 Conclude your essay by summarizing the knowledge youve shared. Dont bring up any new information or raise too many questions. This paragraph is meant to bring closure to the essay while maintaining your readers interest in the topic.
  11. 11. Topic to write your essay The problems faced by old people in our society.
