A trigger-based message is any message sent to your web or mobile app users based on what they do in your web or mobile app.

It’s a highly targeted, personalized email, text message, or push notification sent to your web and mobile users based on their actions.

Let’s say a user signs up for your trial.

If you want to send them a welcome email right after they join, you’d use a trigger-based message to help you send a personalized email automatically to each and every new user.

I’ll give another example.

Let’s say an existing user views your app’s cancel page. Instead of losing this user, you can set up a trigger-based message, like a text message, to automatically send them a text to encourage them to stay.

You can’t do this with the typical marketing message. Your emails, text messages, and push notifications would get to the user when it’s too late.
