It means making sure your business/firm shows up very prominently whenever a potential client does a random search looking for your specific type of product/service. By building the right Intern presence you are ensuring your own success. While not easy, it is very doable. <br />In the following slides I provide a very high level overview of the criteria that must be met in order to achieve this level of success.<br />

Websites<br />The 1st thing you need is a quality, custom designed website that is conversion-oriented.<br />Content must be custom<br />Easy to navigate throughout site<br />Easy to contact you (intake forms, phone numbers)<br />Fast load speed<br />Consider what the different systems allow you to see (i.e. no Flash on iPads)<br />
  4. 4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)<br />Proper onsite SEO<br />Title Tags<br />Inter-linking<br />Meta-Descriptions<br />Proper H1-H6 Tags<br />Custom Content<br />Proper Off Site SEO<br />Quality Links<br />Relevant (to your services) if possible<br />Press Releases<br />

Blogging <br />On Site<br />Helps your on-site SEO by adding more quality, relevant content to your website that is eagerly picked up by search engines (like Google).<br />Reputation Management<br />Positions you as an expert<br />Competitive Differentiation<br />Off-Site<br />Helps your overall presence by doing a few things<br />Adds another level of visibility to your online presence if properly SEO’d by showing up along with your main website<br />Adds relevant quality links into your site<br />Helps with Longtail searches<br />

Inbound Linking <br />Absolutely critical to your website’s rank and where your website will show up based upon random searches<br />Utilize Anchor Text (very important)<br />Links from relevant sites<br />Links from sites that also have many links coming into them<br />Links from High Page Rank sites<br />Stay away from link farms<br />Stay away from random people asking you to link to them<br />

Content<br />Must be original<br />No set number of words but please keep in mind that the more keywords and phrases used, the more opportunities you are giving the search engines to find your website<br />Write as you would speak<br />Make sure you use the right keywords but don’t stuff your website with them or the search engines won’t like it<br />Don’t cut and paste from other websites. That’s cheating and the search engines hate cheaters.<br />

Social Media Optimization <br />Helping with reputation management by putting more positive content on the Internet about your business/firm<br />Directing potential clients to your website via Tweets, FaceBook postings and LinkedIn Connections<br />Increased Awareness of your company/firm<br />Increased traffic to your website<br />Increase in new business<br />Lets the world know about your products/services<br />Helps with SEO: Search Engines like to see activity and the more activity tied to your website the better the rank<br />
  9. 9. “LOCAL” Marketing<br />Google Places<br />Yahoo Local<br />Bing Local<br /><br /><br />LOCAL optimization is critical to a successful online presence for those businesses/firms that are Geo based.<br />Google Places accounts typically show up on page 1 at the top for most local searches<br />Must be done in conjunction with Website Optimization<br />

Video<br />Helps with conversion from casual looker to those that contact you<br />Keeps people on your website longer<br />Videos can be placed throughout the Internet for greater exposure<br />Allows potential client to put a face to a firm<br />Educate Viewers<br />Be seen as a leader <br />
