Lowry: Lesson One – Introduction & Title Page Objectives & Outcomes <ul><li>Learning Objectives: </li></ul><ul><li>To choose suitable materials to create ideas. </li></ul><ul><li>To comment on an artist’s work and link it to your own. </li></ul><ul><li>Learning Outcomes: </li></ul><ul><li>Actions: </li></ul><ul><li>We will look at examples of Lowry’s work and use them as a starting point to develop title page ideas. </li></ul><ul><li>Before we decide on our design we will sketch out a variety of ideas and look at different layouts and compositions. </li></ul><ul><li>Skills: </li></ul><ul><li>We will be focussing on our composition skills and our drawing ability. </li></ul><ul><li>You also need to make sure you choose appropriate materials to add colour to your title page. </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge </li></ul><ul><li>We will learn about Lowry – in particular how he used his surroundings to influence his work and create his distinctive style. </li></ul><ul><li>As artists we will use the influence of Lowry in our own work – both in our compositions and our use of colour. </li></ul>

  6. 6. Lowry: Lesson One – Introduction & Title Page Step by Step 1. 2. 4. 3. Look at the examples of Lowry’s work – you will use these to inspire your title page. Using Lowry’s style think of a few different ideas for your title page and sketch these out onto the sheet provided. Swap your work with a partner and evaluate their ideas, give them some ways to improve their work and comment on what they have done well. Choose which idea to develop into a final title page and sketch it into your book. 5. Add colour to your work and make sure it meets the requirements for a title page. You choose appropriate materials to use.
