  3. 3. Types of Living Things <ul><li>Hay una enorme variedad de seres vivos. </li></ul>Which living things can you name?
  4. 4. ¿Cúantos grupos hay de seres vivos? <ul><li>Can you find each living things category below? </li></ul>Three groups? Four groups? Five groups? Sticker Collections Animals Transportations Plants Watering Cans Clothing Fungi Teddy bears Microorganism Perfumes
  5. 5. Group 1. Animals <ul><li>These living things can travel and eat plants or other animals. </li></ul><ul><li>Human beings also belong to this group </li></ul>
  6. 6. Group 2. Plants <ul><li>These living things do not travel and produce their own food with sunlight. </li></ul><ul><li>Examples include, trees, bushes and grasses </li></ul>
  7. 7. Group 3. Fungi <ul><li>Like plants, these living things cannot travel. However, they also do not have the ability to make their own food like plants nor do they need sunlight to live. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Group 4. Microorganisms <ul><li>These living things are very small and we cannot see them without the help of microscopes. Some microorganisms are good for our body, others make us sick. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Las especies <ul><li>¿Qué es una especie? </li></ul><ul><li>A species is part of a group of living things and can reproduce and have fertile offspring. </li></ul><ul><li>OR </li></ul><ul><li>A species is not part of a group of living things, it is separate and cannot reproduce or have offspring. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Fértiles y estériles <ul><li>Fértiles, es decir, cuando también pueden reproducirse. </li></ul>Estériles, es descir, no pueden reproducirse.
  11. 11. Los hongos <ul><li>Fungi are living things with simple structures. </li></ul><ul><li>Fungi can grow to be very big. </li></ul><ul><li>We can classify fungi into three groups- those that produces mushrooms, molds and yeasts </li></ul>

Los Hongos <ul><li>La mayor parte de los hongos viven dentro del suelo, donde crecen y se desarrollan </li></ul><ul><li>Los hongos son seres vivos con una estrucura muy simple. </li></ul><ul><li>Los hongos producen las esporas </li></ul><ul><li>En condiciones adecuadas de humedad y temperatura se desarrollan nuevos hongos. </li></ul>
  13. 13. Las bacterias <ul><li>Las bacterias se reproducen muy rápidamente y hay muchísimos tipos de bacterias diferentes. </li></ul>Bacteria reproduce very quickly and there are many different types. Is the bacteria in yogurt good or bad?
  14. 14. Los virus <ul><li>Viruses are not living things, because they do not form by cells but they do have the ability to make us sick. </li></ul><ul><li>Los virus no son seres vivos, porque no están formados por células, pero tienen la capacidad de producir enfermedades. </li></ul>
