  2. 2. <ul><li>Safety Integrated Solutions History </li></ul><ul><li>Safety Integrated Solutions Limited (S.I.S. Ltd) was established January 2006 by John O’Reilly to offer bespoke style Health and Safety packages in the construction industry. </li></ul><ul><li>John took up the position of National Health and Safety Manager for Leighton Contractors PTY Ltd in January 2008, a major Australian construction company operating in New Zealand. Due to a restructure within Leighton the National H&S Role was disestablished, resulting in John re-commencing S.I.S. Ltd. In June 2010. </li></ul>

Ltd have included; ARTNL, New Zealand Housing Corporation, BP Lubes (NZ), Kalmar Construction and other construction companies and Red Beach School. </li></ul><ul><li>Works undertaken by S.I.S. Ltd / John included the Safety Roles on the following projects; Refurbishment of the Auckland District Health Boards Hospital (Tower Block) – Grafton Road, The Vector Arena, The Manukau Events Centre, The Northern Gateway Toll Road, The New Market Viaduct replacement, The Manukau 20-1 Motorway Link. </li></ul><ul><li>S.I.S. Ltd / John have also been involved in many other Civil, commercial and residential projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Mission Statement, </li></ul><ul><li>“ Together, developing safer ways to work”. </li></ul><ul><li>This will enhance your organization’s performance. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Profile; John O’Reilly RSP ASA </li></ul><ul><li>John has 30 years of industry experience. In the last decade, he has specialised in health and safety management in New Zealand and the UK. He is one of only 35 Registered Safety Professionals (RSP) and one of 37 Approved Safety Auditors (ASA) here in New Zealand. </li></ul><ul><li>John’s health and safety management expertise has focused on construction (civil & Commercial), asset maintenance and railway industries. This hands-on specific industry experience is complemented by his consultancy expertise at health and safety legislation level. </li></ul><ul><li>John maintains an active role in promoting health and safety in the work place, through frequent participation in industry associations and events.   5. 5. <ul><li>Recent Relevant Experience </li></ul><ul><li>Director of Safety Integrated Solutions Ltd (SIS Ltd) Established by John in January 2006, his role incorporated frequent attendance at safety conferences etc (refer Profile and Professional Affiliations), producing safety systems for companies and reviewing and revising existing safety systems. He also carried out site audits, produced various safety presentations for large corporate clients. Ran toolbox and other safety meetings as an in-house facilitator. Prepared safety documentation and carried out audits for a client seeking to gain ACC primary level accreditation. </li></ul><ul><li>Northern Gateway, Newmarket Viaduct, SH20-1, ARMA (Auckland Road Maintenance Alliance). John was National Safety Manager for all these projects whilst at Leighton Contractors and all of the above projects were either Alliances or Joint Ventures with a total value in excess of NZ$1b. </li></ul><ul><li>His role incorporated all aspects of safety management, including monitoring site safety activities via Formal Audits and informal Site Safety Inspections, monitoring all incidents and accidents, carrying out investigations as necessary, collating monthly reports for Senior Management based on Audits and Incident reports and chairing and minuting the Area Monthly Safety Meeting. </li></ul><ul><li>Also responsible for identification of new safety training relevant to staff, and identifying staff that required safety training, researching new safety equipment, participating in the Northern Safety Liaison Group and sub committees, liaising with DoL and building a closer working relationship with DoL. </li></ul><ul><li>He was jointly responsible for staff induction sessions as well as assisting in setting up safety systems for new sites, supplying information and advising on safety to the site management teams and developing new safety initiatives. </li></ul><ul><li>TelstraClear Event Centre, Vector Arena, Botanical Gardens’ Visitor Centre, Botany Downs Cinema Complex. </li></ul><ul><li>John was Health and Safety Manager for all of these projects while at Mainzeal Construction. His role incorporated all aspects of safety management on these construction projects. </li></ul><ul><li>John championed a safety alliance whilst working at the Vector Arena between Dol, ACC, Site Safe, Mainzeal, all of Mainzeal’s contractors working on the project and the client (QPAM). This was extremely well received by all parties involved. </li></ul><ul><li>John was responsible for producing a monthly safety bulletin and designing and delivering a monthly safety focus. </li></ul><ul><li>Britomart Transport Centre. </li></ul><ul><li>John was Operations Manager for the Britomart Transport Centre (BTC) when it opened to the public July 2003. In this role, John was the Chief Warden with full control of the BTC in the event of an emergency and daily management of the BTC as well as responsibility for reviewing ongoing health and safety issues and producing procedure documentation. John worked with ARTNL (Auckland Regional Transport Network Ltd) management, contractors and rail operators, Trans Metro and Trans Scenic. A key achievement was his implementation of a new design in Hi-Viz pull-apart jackets, now being produced by the Safety Vest Co. and being trialed with a view to becoming the industry standard for all personnel working in high-risk environments. </li></ul>
