Results/Analysis of my Ideal Reader Questionnaire
I can see from this result that most people prefer to go to gigs ratherthan clubs. This means that if I decide to include a competition towin something, I could include a competition to win gig tickets. Alsothis means that it would be a good idea to include a page showingtour dates of different artists.
When I asked what people were first drawn to in a magazine, it is clearthat most people said photos. This suggests that I should make themain image on my front cover really stand out and catch the reader’seye because I know it is the first thing that people will see. The photoshould be interesting and relate well to the audience so that they feelpart of the image in which they will see before anything else.
I can see from this, that the majority of people who answered myquestionnaire, said that they would be willing to pay between £2 -£3. This means that I will price my magazine between £2 - £3because I now know that it is a fairly reasonable price whichpeople are willing to pay.
Looking at this I can see that most people get their music onthe internet. This means that if I decide to put some free musicin the magazine, I will put a free download from iTunes, ratherthan a free CD.
The majority of people who answered my questionnaire said theywerent bothered about competitions in magazines. This makes itvery clear that people generally buy magazines for the informationabout artists and music rather than the competitions. This mademe realise that I don’t have to worry about whether to putcompetitions in my magazine because people generally aren’tbothered.
92% of people said that they buy their magazines in shops. Thisis a very high percentage, compared to buying online . I nowknow that I should definitely sell my magazine in shops becauseit will get much more custom.
The majority of people said that they like having a free gift with themagazine, therefore there is a very high chance that I will includeone with my magazine because the customers will like it. This coulddraw more people in to buy it and also bring people to buy itagain, each time it comes out.
Most people seem to listen to their music on an iPod/portabledevice. This means that if I want to give away any free music or doa competition to win music, then I will make sure that it is toget/win downloads, from a site like iTunes for example. Becausepeople generally seem to download music and generally listen tomusic on a portable device.
