  5. 5. The weather report is donethroughout theday on TV and radio newsprograms. It is also in thenewspaper andon the internet.
  6. 6. People who study and report on theweather are called meteorologists. Meteorologists have special tools to help them track weather patterns.
  7. 7. They can measure how much rainhas fallen by using a rain gauge.
  8. 8. A weather vane can tell which direction the wind is blowing.
  9. 9. An anemometer tells how fast the wind blows.
  10. 10. A thermometer tells if thetemperature is hot or cold.
  11. 11. There are many types of weather.• Sunny • Snowy• Windy • Cloudy• Rainy • Foggy
  12. 12. Sometimes weather is moresevere...and we need to be more careful.
  13. 13. Thunderstorms are fun to watch from a safe place.
  14. 14. Hurricanes are very large stormsthat can sometimes be dangerous.
  15. 15. Too much rain can cause a flood.
  16. 16. Too little rain can cause a drought.
  17. 17. A tornado is another form of severe weather.
