Target audience research facebook

  1. 1. TARGET AUDIENCE RESEARCH Although I have already gathered some quantitative research I would like to gather some more quantitative research but I would like to also have some qualitative questions regarding mise-en-scene research.
  2. 2. QUESTIONNAIRES Due to the fact that social media is an easy and effective way of collecting data I decided to ask my closest friends if they would be willing to answer my questionnaire on Facebook and send me their answers back. In total four of my friends answered my questionnaire. I am now going to analyse the answers which were given.
  3. 3. PARTICIPANT ‘A’ The First person who answered my questionnaire was my younger cousin Louise. Louise is 15 and is currently studying in high school. I asked Louise to answer my questions as she is a very main stream kind of girl who always follows the latest fashion trend.
  4. 4. PARTICIPANT ‘B’ The third person to answer my questionnaire was one of my best friends Emily, who is 17. Although Emily doesn’t fit into my target audience I know that she didn’t enjoy high school for many reasons but one been people bullied her. I would like to get her perspective and opinion on the questions related to bullying.
  5. 5. PARTICIPANT ‘C’ The second person who answered my questionnaire was my friend Nicole – Who is 17, currently studying dance at college. I asked Nicole to answer my questionnaire due to the fact that she also is into mainstream fashion. But more so due to the fact that Nicole works in a high street fashion store in Hull City Centre. This means that on her days at work she will see lots of people and the way they dress this will relate to the questions about fashion.
  6. 6. PARTICIPANT ‘D’ The last person who answered my questionnaire was my younger cousin Ben. Louise is 16 and is currently studying in high school. I asked Ben to answer my questionnaire as up to now I have only done target audience into females however my target audience is 16% Male and 84% female. This means I need to hear a males perspective from somebody who fits into my target audience.
  7. 7. QUESTIONNAIRES What is your favourite music genre? A) Indie B) Indie C) RNB D) RNB In Conclusion: I have found that half of the people I asked my questions fell into my target audience. This could be irrelevant because the reason I did this was to get peoples opinions on the bullying situation and understand fashion styles from other peoples’ point of view.
  8. 8. QUESTIONNAIRES Who is your favourite music artist? A) Jake Bugg/Artic Monkeys B) The Smiths C) Beyonce D) Rihanna In Conclusion: Participants C and D said that their favourite musical artist are RNB artists, again this shows that they fit into my target audience.

If that D) Hardly Ever, I only watch them if people have made a big deal about them for example I have watched the latest Miley Cyrus music videos. In Conclusion: The two people who were in my target audience say that they hardly ever watch music videos. Participant D said that unless people have made a big deal he doesn’t tend to watch music videos. This shows that I need my music video to shock people so that people will watch it.

  13. 13. QUESTIONNAIRES What would you expect to see in an RNB/SOUL music video? A) Love scenes and stuff B) Pimps n hoes C) Money, Black People D) Love scenes and close ups. In Conclusion: Due to the fact that my music video will be based more around Soul I don’t want to add footage of ‘pimps n hoes’ or ‘money and black people’ in my music video. However participant D says that he would expect to see close ups which shows that in my music video I will video close ups.

A) Unique clothes B) ‘indie’ means individual so could mean anything they want to wear C) A parka coat, dark colours, something that stands out D) Dark Clothes, Parka Coat, anything really. 22. 22. QUESTIONNAIRES In general what do you relate to bullying? A) People getting hurt B) Vulnerability and loneliness C) People committing suicide D) People hurting themselves In Conclusion: I will show these things in my music video as I already planned to so these answers have just shown that my initial thoughts of what to do my music video fit to what my target audience expect to see in a music video about bullying.
  23. 23. QUESTIONNAIRES What colours do you believe connote sadness? A) Blue or black B) Grey and Black C) Dark colours: purple, black, grey… D) Black In Conclusion: I will include some of these colours in my music video and also when it comes to editing I want to do a section of it in black and white, mainly due to the fact that that is a convention of my chosen genre but more so because my target audience have said that black connotes sadness.
