Broad Areas of Partnership Activities/ Strategies Policy Development <ul><li>Make sure that PS/BS are represented in the various Poverty Reduction Action Teams </li></ul><ul><li>Region- RKCG; Province- PPRAT; </li></ul><ul><li>Municipal/City – M/C PRATS; </li></ul><ul><li>Barangay - BPRAT </li></ul><ul><li>Contribute to policy formulation by attending LPRAT meetings </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in pursuing institutional reforms at the local levels such as Barangay Governance Reforms </li></ul>

Broad Areas of Partnership Activities/ Strategies Planning <ul><li>Participate in local planning by offering expertise, experience, logistics and other resources </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in the assessment and mapping of the extent and nature of poverty in the area. </li></ul><ul><li>Participate in the preparation of Local Poverty Action Plans </li></ul>
  4. 4. Broad Areas of Partnership Activities/ Strategies Resource Generation/ Mobilization <ul><li>NGOs have extensive network (local/ international) and resources (material & human) that can be tapped for assistance in development activities </li></ul>
  5. 5. Broad Areas of Partnership Activities/ Strategies Implementation <ul><li>NGOs play a bridging role between government and the people. </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct/assist the LGUs in the implementation of poverty-related programs/ projects such as: </li></ul><ul><li>1. Provision of livelihood and employment opportunities for marginalized group through community enterprise and skills training </li></ul><ul><li>2. Assistance to poor farmers and small producers in the processing and marketing of their products </li></ul><ul><li>3. Provision of basic training on household food security such as home gardening, backyard livestock industry and inland fishing; and provision of support services, e.g. seeds, credit, etc. </li></ul>

Construction/ installation of solar dryer, multi-purpose pavement, post harvest facilities, food processing, rice and corn mills, warehouses 5. Construction/maintenance of public access such as barangay roads, farm to market roads, foot bridge/bridges 6. Provision of farm equipment, supplies and other farm inputs 7. Provision of safe drinking water by installing low cost water supply like hand-pumps, gravity fed systems, rain water collection, shallow/ deep/artesian tube wells and construction of infrastructures for potable water system 8. Development/ construction of low cost sanitation facilities like ventilated improved pit privy (VIP) and other latrines
  7. 7. Broad Areas of Partnership Activities/ Strategies <ul><li>9. Provision of basic hygiene education and training for households </li></ul><ul><li>10. Promotion and enforcement of food fortification law and ASIN Law </li></ul><ul><li>11. Sustenance of supplementary feeding and “ Operation Timbang ” </li></ul><ul><li>Participate in the conduct of KALAHI Karaban (RKCG-led and localized) by providing programs/projects/assistance that respond to the needs of the poor </li></ul>

Broad Areas of Partnership Activities/ Strategies Monitoring and Evaluation <ul><li>Exact accountabilities on barangay, municipal and city officials </li></ul><ul><li>NGOs can provide an independent assessment of how public resources are being allocated at the national and local level </li></ul><ul><li>Keep track of the overall progress of poverty reduction through a community-managed monitoring system in each barangay administered through LGUs </li></ul><ul><li>Participate in the conduct of Community Based Monitoring System survey </li></ul><ul><li>Monitor and evaluate project implementation </li></ul>
