Using the “Lookup” Feature
for
FamilySearch® Family Tree
Sign in to your
ResearchTies account.
To add a new person,
click on “Add Information,”
then select “Individual.”
Add the appropriate data, then click the
“Lookup” button to import the Family
Search ID.
The first time you use ResearchTies with FamilySearch, the
program will ask your permission to allow the programs to

You will be asked to sign
in to FamilySearch.
FamilySearch will return potential matches for
your selected person.
Your data

Use the navigation buttons to
page through, as needed.
Click “Select” to the right of
the matching record.
The FamilySearch ID will be
imported. Click “Add Individual.”
To add the FamilySearch ID for someone
already in the database, click on the
“Lists” icon, then select “Individuals.”
On the list, click “Edit”
to the right of the
desired individual.
Click the “Lookup”
button.
Select the matching record.
The FamilySearch ID number
will be imported.
Click “Save.”
With the FamilySearch ID number
recorded, you are now ready to share your
sources from ResearchTies to FamilySearch

  2. 2. Sign in to your ResearchTies account. To add a new person, click on “Add Information,” then select “Individual.”
  3. 3. Add the appropriate data, then click the “Lookup” button to import the Family Search ID.
