Say Think Insight - there are so many jobs offers - the thing I value more is a friendly environment - I am not sure about my future career path - I am afraid many jobs are quite boring - I am not used to rigid time schedules - Some of my friends are not happy in their jobs but they stay - money, how much to ask, how much I deserve - not sure about getting a job or start a company myself - There are many completely different kind of career paths: startup, big IT company, small software development company, project leader, software architect, etc. He is somehow scared of going from a fun and free situation to a boring and restricted work He has not realized that there are many tradeoffs involved He is ready to take big risks, he is not even aware of the risks The market is so favorable for software engineers that it is companies that compite to get the engineers instead of people competing to get into a company. The thing software engineers value most of a job is not money or package benefits but the environment where they are going to work: are they going to use a tie, what software tools and languages they use, do they work in pairs, etc. Do Feel Problem Framing Stakeholder Need Insight Alfredo, young student will graduate a a software engineer in December. He has never had a formal employment but he has experience a few short duration jobs during summer and vacation. He would like to continue at school but he also needs to start getting paid. to explore as many possible job prospects as possible before accepting the one with the best environment to get advice from other young engineers doing different kind of jobs at different companies the scarcity of software engineers allows them to window-shop amomg the available job offers instead of the more regular situation where companies get to pick the people they want
