Mission Wind Power <ul><ul><li>Gujarat has the longest coastline in India of over 1600 km where wind speeds are good for harnessing wind energy. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Private wind power plants have been set up along the coast and Gujarat's total wind power capacity is now over 1600 mega watts. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Gujarat plans to add more than 4000 mega watts of wind power capacity by 2012. </li></ul></ul>

Mission on Sustainable Habitat <ul><ul><li>Construction of fly overs to reduce vehicular emissions due to traffic congestion. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Systematic phasing out of petrol diesel vehicles in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar through GR to augment fuel efficiency and control air pollution. 500 PUCs across the state for strict compliance of emission norms. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ahmedabad drops to 4th rank from 66th for Air pollution </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Gujarat is transforming polluting cities to green cities. In 2003 Ahmedabad was named as the most-polluted city in India. In 2009 Ahmedabad topped the list of United Nations ‘Green Cities'. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>.  </li></ul>

National Mission for a “Green India” <ul><ul><li>Planted more than 30000 hectares of mangroves in last decade. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Total mangrove cover is now 936 kms proved by satellite imagery. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>With a successful social forestry and JFM Programme, in 2008-09 around 68,000 hectares of land was taken for plantation. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>.  </li></ul>
