  2. 2. Basic  Rules •  All lines after the first line of each entry in your reference list should be indented one-half inch from the left margin. This is called hanging indentation. o  Go to format and under paragraph choose hanging.
  3. 3. Basic  Rules •  Authors names are inverted, last name and initials for all authors of a particular work. o  Last name first and first name last
  4. 4. Basic  Rules •  Should be alphabetized by the last name. o  Within your bibliography you want to organize each listing into alphabetic order using the last name of the author.
  5. 5. Basic  Rules •  Capitalize all major words in journal titles. o  All important words need to be capitalised in journal titles need capitalized to show importance.
  6. 6. Basic  Rules •  Capitalize only the first letter of the first word of a title and subtitle in referring to books, chapters, articles, or Web pages.
