Three willows

  1. 1.  In the book, the sisterhood between Ama, Jo and Polly-both secondary school graduates-was represented by willow tree cuttings which they were given on the first day of their friendship. As suggested by the toughness and liveliness of the willow, the author is trying to convey the idea that friendship will but grow bigger with time and never fade away. Sometimes they may be left in a unnoticeable corner on account of adversities in life. One day, however, when we suddenly reminisce them, they already grow from tiny seeds to giant trees.
  2. 2. the author Ann Brashares lives in New York City with her husband and their three children . She is the author of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants novels, a series that reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and inspired two major motion pictures.
  3. 3. publish year  This book was published in the year of 2009
  4. 4.  One of Ann Brashares strengths is that she puts so much into her characters that readers can always find someone like them. The experiences the girls have never seem over the top or unrealistic, and their friendship will resonate with readers making the transition from middle school to high school. Although reminiscent of THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS series, Polly, Ama, and Jo each bring something new to the story - and their stories are original. Fans will enjoy the appearances made by characters from the previous series, as well.
